Our Story

Northern Sauna Co. was born from a simple belief: every home deserves the healing power of an authentic sauna experience. Founded in 2018 in Portland, Oregon, we've grown from a small family workshop to America's most trusted outdoor sauna brand.

Our Craftsmanship

Every Northern Sauna is handcrafted from Grade-A Canadian Western Red Cedar, sustainably sourced from managed forests in British Columbia. Our master craftsmen have over 100 years of combined woodworking experience, and each sauna undergoes a 47-point quality inspection before shipping.

We don't cut corners. Our staves are a full 1.75 inches thick — not the 1-inch thin-cut you'll find from cheaper importers. Our hardware is stainless steel and bronze, not plated steel that rusts. Our heaters come from Harvia, the world's most respected sauna heater manufacturer based in Finland.

Sustainability

For every sauna we build, we plant 10 trees through our partnership with the National Forest Foundation. Our cedar is PEFC-certified, ensuring responsible forest management. Our packaging is 95% recyclable, and we offset 100% of our shipping carbon emissions.
